Plasterboard Profiles: Make-To-Order and high performance features to build value into the product
Drywall construction is more and more popular, being easy and cost effective in renovation works, commercial and private buildings worldwide.
Plasterboard is fixed to the underlying structure, which was once made of wood and today of steel profiles. This steel structure is easy to assemble to create walls and ceilings using U-shaped profiles (Tracks) fixed to floor and ceiling, and C-shaped profiles (Studs) that rise vertically; a similar structure is assembled on the ceiling with special accessories. Plasterboard panels are then fixed to the profiles by means of self-tapping screws.
This article, will show how modern production systems allow producers to increase the value to this relatively simple profile, by simplifying the work in the assembly (with make-to-order profiles) and by increasing the performance in sound and thermal transmission.
