OMD in Düsseldorf: enhanced solutions for spring production and finishing

OMD – Officina Meccanica Domaso brings to the stage of wire Düsseldorf 2026 a range of machines and solutions dedicated to the production and finishing of springs, updated with new features to meet the requirements of modern spring makers.
In detail, at stand 10/F17, visitors will discover:
- spring grinding machines with advanced process control systems
- chamfering machines for internal and external chamfers on cylindrical springs
- multiformers for forming different types of springs
- eyelet forming machines for tension springs
Spring grinding machines with advanced process control and chamfering solutions
OMD’s showcase opens with the MA10-2/E, a grinding machine configured with motorized probes reading the profile of grinding wheels. The machine is equipped with the upgraded EXTRA cooling system, designed to ensure improved thermal management of both the abrasive and the springs during the grinding process. The machine also integrates updated software, which helps optimize process control and the quality of the final result.
Alongside this model, the next-generation MA6S grinding machine will also be presented, equipped with an automatic loading system. This solution is designed to offer greater production flexibility and is particularly suitable also for the efficient handling of small batches of springs.
For finishing operations, OMD will present the FGI/A 1A-250, a chamfering machine designed to produce internal and external chamfers on cylindrical springs using the same spindle. The machine ensures fast processing and allows simplified format changes, with quick setup for different types of springs.
Multiformers for different types of processing
In the forming segment, the TM3 Multiformer will also be on display, featuring enhanced software and intuitive graphical programming that allows operators to manage operations in a simple and immediate way.
Solutions for eyelet production
The exhibition will also showcase machines dedicated to the production of tension springs with eyelets.
Among them is the Z1, an electronic tension spring former designed for wire diameters ranging from 0.35 to 1 mm. The machine enables the production of multiple eyelet types, including English, German, half-German, tangential, and hook configurations.
For prototyping and small batch applications, the OM5 will also be on display. This semi-automatic eyelet making device is capable of producing English and German loops directly from the spring body.
OMD staff will be available at booth 10/F17 to provide technical and commercial information. The event will take place at Messe Düsseldorf from April 13 to 17.
