Cartacci Tube Machinery: technology and reliability in tube straightening, from the USA to Italy

Tube straightener machine: successfully delivered in the USA

In December, just before the Christmas holidays, Cartacci successfully completed the installation and start-up of a 10V5HOT hot tube straightening machine at a major tube manufacturer in Houston, Texas (USA). The machine is dedicated to the processing of API carbon steel tubes for energy applications.

Designed for welded tubes of medium and large diameters (114÷340mm), with lengths exceeding 14 meters, the straightener ensures full compliance with API 5CT requirements in terms of straightness and ovality tolerances, even under hot straightening conditions. The process operates at a temperature of approximately 650°C and is fully integrated into the production cycle, including a tempering furnace upstream and a cooling bed downstream of the straightening process.

The result is a perfectly straightened tube, free from external or internal surface marks, capable of meeting the stringent quality standards of the oil & gas market.

Small-diameter tube straightener: maximum precision for the Italian market

Cartacci’s 2026 also opened with a new turnkey delivery in Italy. In early January, the new RDT10V00 tube straightening machine was commissioned at a customer site in Northern Italy. Designed for small-diameter tubes (8÷20 mm), the machine has been developed to guarantee maximum precision at every stage of the process.

From the automatic tube loading system with “lift” roller, to electronic control of the feed speed and fully motorized adjustments managed via touch screen, every detail has been engineered to simplify operator activities and ensure consistent, repeatable results. The compact and rigid machine structure guarantees stability and vibration-free operation, while the technological core – based on magnetostrictive transducers – allows extremely accurate adjustments, down to one-tenth of a millimeter.
