Spotlight on Cartacci Tube Machinery: custom-engineered solutions for tube processing

That’s how Eng. Fabrizio Mamoli, General Manager of Cartacci Tube Machinery, summarized the company’s latest achievements, which include new installations in Italy and bespoke developments for international clients.

New bundling line in Lombardy

Cartacci has delivered a new tube bundling line for a leading Italian manufacturer. The system can process round carbon steel tubes with diameters from 50 to 180 mm, wall thicknesses from 2 to 10 mm, and lengths up to 13 meters.

“But it’s not just about figures: the true strength of this line lies in its efficiency,” explains Eng. Mamoli. “Thanks to an innovative layout, the carriage releases each finished bundle onto the conveyor to the strapping unit and immediately resets for the next cycle. The outcome: zero idle time, continuous operation, and maximum productivity.”

New RDT10V00 straightening machine

A new RDT10V00 straightening machine is also nearing completion for another client in Italy. Designed for small-diameter tubes (8–20 mm), it guarantees high precision throughout every processing stage. From automatic loading with a lift roller to electronic feed-speed control and motorized adjustments managed via touchscreen, every feature is conceived to simplify operation and ensure consistent, reliable output.

“The structure is compact and sturdy, with all components mounted for maximum stability and vibration reduction. Its technological core is a set of magnetostrictive transducers that allow adjustments accurate to one-tenth of a millimeter.”

International project: RDT10V1-plus straightening machine

“Looking beyond Italy, we are developing an ambitious project: a new RDT10V1-plus straightening machine with automatic loading and unloading, designed for a major European producer of tubes for OCTG applications. Currently in the design phase, the system will process tubes up to 114 mm in diameter and wall thicknesses up to 16 mm, with turnkey delivery scheduled for 2026.”

“What makes it stand out? It will be optimized to handle the fine scale that remains on tubes after heat treatment. To achieve this, we are designing special protections for the base rollers to safeguard the structure and extend component life.”
