Four new Mazak machines expand capabilities in laser and milling applications

Yamazaki Mazak has expanded its portfolio with four newly developed solutions: the FT-250, the Optiplex 4020 Bevel 20 kW, the Optiplex 3015/4220 HP, and the Optiplex 3015 Ez-L. All four models are designed to enhance productivity, reliability, and flexibility in sheet, tube, and structural profile processing, covering a broad spectrum of production needs, from standard applications to intensive processing.
FT-250: versatile laser cutting and milling for tubes and structural profiles
The FT-250 is a 6kW laser cutting machine designed to process both tubes and structural profiles such as square sections and L-beams. It features dedicated laser and milling heads mounted on independent saddles, enabling simultaneous operation and improved throughput. Equipped with U-axis and B-axis control, the machine supports bevel cutting and advanced machining operations. Performance improvements over previous models are substantial: cutting of thick stainless steel is up to 2.3 times faster than earlier models, and the maximum loading capacity increases to 50 kg/m. The unit supports processing tasks such as M16 tapping, oblong hole counterboring, chamfering, and tool changes during laser cutting. Enhanced workpiece support and centering mechanisms reduce sway during cutting, while a flexible loading system accommodates various shapes. Fast unloading and improved numerical control contribute to reliability and ease of operation.
Optiplex 4020 Bevel: advanced bevel cutting system
The Optiplex 4020 Bevel is equipped with a 20kW Mazak SmoothCUT resonator, designed to deliver stable high-power output for precise bevel cutting of thick materials. Demonstrated applications include mild steel up to 50mm, with consistent quality across various bevel types—V, X, and Y—from 0° to 45°. The machine features reinforced base protection, exterior cover panels, and an upper column-mounted bevel head to ensure cutting stability. A dedicated CNC interface streamlines programming and operation for complex bevel geometries, supporting reliable and repeatable processing in demanding production environments.
Optiplex 3015/4220 HP: versatile high-power sheet laser
Available in 15kW and 20kW versions, the Optiplex 3015/4220 HP models offer reliable, high-speed cutting of thick plate materials. The combination of Mazak’s SmoothCUT and the Grand Cut technology enables high-quality cutting of thick mild and stainless steels, with cut edges that are consistently sharp and free of taper—performance levels not previously achievable with conventional resonators. The machine is optimized for both oxygen- and nitrogen-assisted cutting and supports dual-pallet handling of workpieces, maximizing uptime and throughput.
Optiplex 3015 Ez-L: compact and accessible sheet laser cutting
The Optiplex 3015 Ez-L is developed to offer reliable cutting performance in thin to medium-thickness materials, within a compact and efficient design. Available with 6kW and 12kW fibre laser sources, it supports core automation options to streamline production. A new-generation nozzle system—derived from Mazak’s high-end platforms—enhances gas usage efficiency and cutting stability. The machine layout is optimized for practical floor use, with wide-opening front and side access doors for easy material handling. Combined with an intuitive CNC interface, the Ez-L is well suited for standard production workflows and general-purpose sheet processing.
These new solutions reflect Mazak’s continued focus on advancing laser cutting capabilities through automation, precision, and robust design. Each model brings a distinct contribution to the Mazak laser portfolio.
