Held at the European Laser Technology Center in Cerro Maggiore (Italy) across four sessions in June, the Tube Technology Days combined technical seminars and live demonstrations covering laser processing, integrated manufacturing, CNC programming, Industry 4.0, and automation.
In this interview, Gaetano Lo Guzzo, Director Laser Business Europe at Yamazaki Mazak, looks back at the initiative and discusses the growing demand for automation and more efficient production.
The conversation also focuses on two Mazak technologies for laser tube processing:
FT-250 – a fiber laser tube cutting machine designed to process round, square, and structural profiles with speed and precision. Equipped with a 6 kW SmoothCUT laser source and the SmoothTUBE CNC, it integrates cutting, drilling, and tapping into a single setup, helping reduce production lead times while increasing productivity and automation.
FG-400 NEO – a 3D fiber laser system for long tubes and structural steel, featuring multi-axis cutting capabilities, intelligent automation, and automatic loading and unloading for flexible, high-productivity manufacturing.
