EJP global project roundup in bar and wire processing

EJP Maschinen GmbH is closing the year with a series of noteworthy projects that showcase the breadth of its bar and wire processing expertise.
Recently installed peeling and straightening line in India
EJP is pleased to announce the commissioning of a peeling and straightening line at Aamor Inox, one of the most important Indian producers of stainless steel bars. The company has already been operating a large peeling line (25-120 mm) since 2012. The success of this new project is the result of a fruitful and trusting collaboration between the EJP and the Aamor Inox teams.
The line includes a 2-roll straightening machine for pre-setting black material, a peeling machine, and a 2-roll straightening machine for straightening bright steel. The main machine units are complemented by the appropriate material handling equipment. Finished bars range from 15 to 60 mm in diameter and from 3 to 6.5 meters in length. The joint work has delivered satisfying results in terms of surface roughness, straightness, and diameter tolerances of the finished bars.
In addition to the proven performance of the 2-roll straighteners for both black and bright bars, EJP would like to highlight the excellent performance of the peeling machine equipped with its patented automatic tool wear recovery head.
Complete wire drawing line currently being set up at EJP’s factory
A complete wire drawing line is currently being set up at EJP’s factory for a customer in the USA. The system comprises a feeder, a bending descaler, a shotblasting machine and a single-block drawing machine. The line is designed for a wire diameter range of 6.5 mm to 14.0 mm and demonstrates an efficient combination of all process steps – from wire preparation to precise drawing.
The single drawing block is equipped with a lifting basket that allows the wire to be lifted directly from the drawing capstan. A special feature here is that the drawing capstan is water-cooled despite the use of the lifting basket.
Interested customers and partners currently have the opportunity to view the system in its assembled state at EJP’s factory, where it will remain on display until its upcoming delivery.
Automatic coil-feeding and pointing system before delivery
While EJP machines are built to last and run for decades, upgrades are sometimes necessary or requested to meet new safety regulations or improve productivity.
To address these needs, EJP is providing an automatic feeding-straightener, pointing, and wire-transfer system to a customer in the aluminum industry. This system has been fully tested in the workshop and is now on its way to the customer’s facility.
The equipment works as follows: once the operator has placed the leading end of the wire into the feeding-straightener, the wire is automatically fed into the swaging machine where pointing is completed in a matter of seconds. After the swaging process, the wire is taken over by a gripper system and transferred to the existing cross-transfer and infeed unit.
The entire process is executed while the previous wire is still being drawn. Not only does this boost efficiency but also removes a good amount of physical labor previously required by the operator.
These projects underline EJP’s ongoing commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance solutions for bar and wire processing. Stay tuned for more updates or contact the company directly for additional information.
