Assomac at International Engineering Sourcing Show: insight on Indian wire industry

The well-known machinery supplier Assomac Machines Ltd. has been proud participant and exhibitor of IESS VIII, the International Engineering Sourcing Show held at Chennai, India from 14-16 March 2019. It was the 3rd time in a row Assomac participated in the exhibition, which was organized by EEPC India (Engineering Export Promotion Council), an autonomous body under Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. Technology is a strong priority area for India. "In recent years our country had a strong focus on science & technology, and the present government is realizing that it is a key element of economic growth," comments Nirmal Singh, Director of Assomac Machines Ltd.

Chennai, also regarded as Capital of South India, is an important regional hub for the automotive sector, accounting for 35% of India’s auto component production and 70% of India’s overall exports of passenger vehicles.

The partner country for the IESS VIII exhibition was Malaysia, which has seen a notable growth in recent years in the automotive industry. "The participation of the Malaysian & Indian engineering industry under one roof was a win-win situation for both," says Mr Singh. "During the last three participations at the same venue and place we realized that it is the most favoured global destination for sourcing engineering goods and services from India."
India is at the top of Asia striving to be a US$ 5 Trillion economy within 4 – 5 years. The engineering sector plays an important role both for domestic as well as exports requirements, and the wire industry itself plays a very pivotal role in the engineering field. "We received a good number of visitors, both from India as well as from Southeast Asian & nearby countries. Some of the orders are already in the finalisation phase," concludes Nirmal Singh. "Assomac has always strived to keep wire the key of engineering the future, and we tirelessly work to extend the service as an effort to convert India to a global wire industry player."
