Collari s.n.c. to present new AU340SPE layer winder at Düsseldorf trade show

Collari Gian Luca and Valeria will be present at stand 11/C58, where they will be pleased to welcome visitors and introduce the new Collari AU340SPE layer winder. This model is designed for processing ductile metal wires such as annealed iron, galvanized wire, copper, and aluminum, both bare and coated, with diameters up to approximately 5.0 mm. It is intended for applications in the steel industry and, more generally, for wire production and processing.

This new machine represents the evolution of previous models, while maintaining the well-established reliability, ease of use, and high winding consistency that ensure stable performance even under intensive production conditions.

Precision and customization

The new AU340SPE winder features a low-noise electronic control system with centesimal precision, capable of fully and automatically managing the movement and pitch of the wire guide. The wire guide is also now driven by a brushless motor optimized for efficiency and reduced maintenance.

The system automatically calculates the correct reversal points of the wire guide carriage, while still allowing the operator to manually adjust these parameters in order to achieve the highest possible final quality.

All functions are controlled via a multilingual color touchscreen panel, designed for immediate and intuitive operation.

The machine operates through customizable recipes that include parameters such as production batch, wire diameter, and the quantity to be wound. The operator can select either length counting or layer counting mode. The system also includes a deceleration and automatic stop function upon reaching the preset values, ensuring both accuracy and repeatability of the process.

Tying operations and finished product handling

At the end of each cycle, the machine is ready for the automatic positioning of tying notches, configurable with 2 or 4 ties per coil, thereby streamlining downstream operations and improving handling of finished products.

An automatic pneumatic system extracts the finished coil, already tied and ready for removal, optimizing cycle times and enhancing operator safety. The system then automatically resets to begin the next coil.

The AU340SPE winder is designed for remote assistance and is equipped with a basic communication protocol that can be adapted for integration with company management software. This allows the system to transmit production and monitoring data, as well as receive instructions or production recipes.

Characteristics of the layer winder and production range

Main technical features:

• electronically controlled forward and reverse movement of the wire guide carriage, driven by a brushless motor;
• front sliding safety guard;
• 4 kW self-braking AC main motor;
• speed adjustment up to 7 m/s via electronic inverter;
• optional operation in layer counting or length counting mode;
• integrated coil counter and production batch management;
• separate control panel cabinet;
• pneumatic supply 8–12 bar, also operable without lubricator.

Standard coil dimensional range:

• inner diameter: 200 mm;
• maximum outer diameter: 340 mm;
• maximum width: 150 mm;
• strapping passage: 16 mm for 4 ties.

Different final coil dimensions are available upon request.

The AU340SPE winder can be easily integrated with SV2 static payoffs, suitable for 1,000 kg coils, and may also be equipped with an in-line lubrication system SLF01 and a rotating base BR1. This configuration ensures a constant wire feed and twist-free winding, improving both overall production efficiency and winding speed.
