DEM Cold Rolling line for profiles. DEM Wire Rolling Technology has just commissioned a new Profile Wire Rolling line for production special flats and squares starting from wire rod. The final profile can be spooled or cut into straight bars in line. The fully automated system allows profile measurement and self-adjustment on closed loop control. The rolls, 2 driven and 2 idle, can be moved vertically and horizontally to allow making a vast range of flat wire without changing the rolls and a wide range of a special profiles that cannot be achieved with a traditional line. All working and set-up parameters for each rolled profile are stored in the PC memory and can be retrieved any time a product has to be re-rolled for automatic rolling line set-up. The line consists of a wire rod uncoiling system (pay-off), a shot blasting machine, a pre-straightener, a DEM rolling cassette for the calibration and tuning of the wire rod section, 2 motorised rolling stands, 2 dancers for wire speed control, laser measuring device, a fully automated coiler, an automated coil ejection and tilting unit for coil removal from the coiler, a straightener, a wire cutting-to-length shear and bar collecting bench.
