New rod processing CLM-150 by DEM: hi speed at fair price

Hi speed at fair price DEM adds a new model to its immensely successful CLM series: CLM-150 HS. Like all earlier CLM models, CLM-150 HS is also an integrated solution for decoiling, straightening, rolling and ribbing, precise cutting of wire rod. It can process rods from 4 to 12 mm in diameter (output dimensions). The high-speed shears make the machine highly productive, up to 300 m/min.    Quality constant Thanks to the smart construction and LEAN concepts used in the design process, the new CLM-150 HS offers an irresistible price-performance ratio. The CLM-150 incorporates a number of engineering solutions to ensure long term quality. For example the rolling section consists of a train of DEM patented cassettes with several passes for the reducing and forming of the wire rod. The final profiling of the wire product is performed with a dedicated stand. It is equipped with 3 driven rolls having a displacement of 120° one to the other.

Faster than before The secrets that make the new CLM-150 faster lie in the high-speed shears and in the unloading module.   The two cutting blades are assembled on two heavy shafts between two blade holders. The rotation is performed by an electric motor. An encoder controls the blade positions and synchronizes them as the material travels forward. The shear knives run constantly, while a deviator shifts the material in between the knives at the right length to be cut. The material is then conveyed towards two openable guides which are fed alternatively. Bars are unloaded on two sides of the module. In certain cases the cycle time can be increased by as much as 60%.

Reduced maintenance costs The electrical wiring layout of the machine is designed in such a way that it is easier to assemble and maintain. This means higher reliability and machine up-time. The reduced presence of hydraulic system components like tubes, fittings, valves and cylinders means a drastic reduction in the number of components subject to wear & tear.
