Patenting and brass plating line for the production of tire reinforcement wire, hose wire and SAW wire

GCR Eurodraw SPA presents: Patenting and brass plating line for the production of radial tire reinforcement cords, high pressure hose wire and SAW wire for photovoltaic applications.   The line has been designed and manufactured by GCR Eurodraw SPA, and it is composed of various sections in which the various heat treatments and electro plating processes are taking place in order to obtain a wire with very specific characteristics suitable for the intended applications. This type of installation can be configured from a minimum of 8 wires to a maximum of 64 wires in order to achieve a total capacity of 12.000 tons per year.  
The line can be designed with common wire controls or wire by wire controls, allowing to control the coating of each wire independently in order to obtain different coatings for different applications for each of the wires that are being processed.  On one same line, some wires can have the wire by wire configuration and the other wires can be processed with common control configuration.

The line is composed by the following sections:
- Electrolytic degreasing of the wire surface. The degreasing can be combined with a ultrasonic degreasing for maximum efficiency.
- Patenting furnace with fluidized bed or with induction pre-heating.
- Electrolytic pickling with sulfuric acid or chemical pickling with HCl
- Electro-coating section that uses the insoluble anodes technology or soluble anodes and equipped with specific rectifiers that control the wave form.
- Thermal treatment section by induction where the zinc and the brass are combined to form brass.
- Phosphoric acid pickling

The supervision of the process and the functions of the line are monitored by a specific high end software where all the process parameters are displayed and can be set. Through this software it is possible to measure the currents in each section, measure the temperatures in the furnaces, the wire speeds, the pH in each acid or alkaline bath, in addition to all the level alarms of the solutions, the pumps etc..

The line is equipped with payoffs and take-ups, designed and manufactured by GCR Eurodraw, that allow a smooth wire payoff and take-up and that are equipped with a wire accumulation system that allows the change of the spool without interfering with the continuous operation of the line.

GCR Eurodraw can claim a 40 year experience in the steel wire equipment field and in particular in the steel cord where GCR Eurodraw has supplied and successfully commissioned this type of installation to many clients around the world.
