2015, an exciting year for Gimax
2015 is an active year for GIMAX when it comes to shows and exhibitions, with two events that are already over and three still to come.
INTERWIRE in Atlanta (USA) was the first of the year at the end of April and proved to be much better attended than in the past couple of editions. GIMAX exhibited its new TRS wet drawbench which aroused a lot of interest both among existing GIMAX customers, potential customers and competitors. The drawbench is “wet” in the sense that the liquid lubricant is sprayed onto the rotating dies and capstans – the capstans are positioned vertically, each with its own drive (non-slip technology) and can reach a speed of over 33 metres/second.
With attendance being better than in previous editions, GIMAX registered a large number of visitors and applications for its machinery – certainly a very successful show.
WIRE Russia, held in Moscow shortly after the Atlanta show in May, was a much smaller venue, starting out dismally since it was tagged onto important Russian festivities and so the first day of the show was also the first day of work after a long weekend of celebrations. The first day saw almost no visitors, negatively affecting the morale of the exhibitors. But the rest of the show made up for the slow start – the GIMAX presence was with the Italian Pavilion, not as lavish a booth as in Atlanta but well attended, to the point that two large contracts will now require a return to Russia in the very near future to be finalized.
The “ESSEN” WELDING show, this year to be hosted on June 16-19 in Shanghai (China) will be the next venue where GIMAX will be present with a small booth – although it is not a machinery exhibition, many GIMAX customers will be exhibiting and GIMAX offers its support by also being present.
Following this are two more shows, one to be held in Thailand and one in Brazil – the autumn months see GIMAX hopping from Bangkok (WIRE SOUTHEAST ASIA) in September over to Sao Paolo (WIRE SOUTH AMERICA) in October. These markets have always been reasonably active and the feeling is that there shall be more movement in the industry.
