Gimax at wire India 2026: advanced automation with the INF and ROBO series

Gimax at wire India 2026: advanced automation with the INF and ROBO series

From November 30 to December 2, Gimax will participate in wire India 2026, showcasing its latest technologies for welding wire production and packaging. The Italy-based company designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of machinery in-house, covering every stage of the production process, from wire rod treatment and drawing to finished product packaging.

At the exhibition, Gimax will highlight its INF series of drum packing machines and ROBO series of automated spoolers, two solutions designed to improve productivity, precision, and efficiency in wire processing.

INF drum packing machines: reliable packaging for welding wire

Gimax's INF series is designed to ensure consistent rosette formation and controlled wire accumulation inside the drum, allowing smooth wire payout in robotic welding applications.

Available in INF 2, INF 4, and INF 5 configurations, these machines combine high production capacity with reliable, continuous operation, even in demanding industrial environments.

The INF systems can be easily integrated into automated production lines and handle a wide variety of welding wires, including CO2 welding wire, copper-coated and copper-free wire, stainless steel wire, aluminum alloy wire, and flux-cored wire. Their versatility also makes them suitable for other wire products requiring packaging in kraft drums or similar containers.

ROBO spoolers: flexible, fully automated wire rewinding

Another highlight at wire India 2026 will be Gimax's ROBO series, particularly ROBOBINA, an automated solution for precision layer winding (PLW) onto spools.

ROBOBINA manages the entire rewinding cycle automatically, from spool loading and initial wire fastening to high-speed winding, flange adjustment, and wire guiding. The process continues through wire cutting, final fastening, and unloading of the finished spool, minimizing the need for manual intervention.

The latest version introduces automated format changeover, programmable recipes, and quick-change features that reduce setup times and make switching between spool sizes easier and faster. This flexibility allows manufacturers to configure the system for high-volume, standardized production or for operations involving frequent product changes, without compromising winding precision or productivity.

Energy efficiency is another key feature. Regenerative drives and dynamic control systems help optimize energy use while maintaining consistent performance throughout the production cycle.

Designed for continuous operation, ROBOBINA accommodates different wire types and spool sizes with minimal operator involvement. Optional Industry 5.0 connectivity also supports remote monitoring and ongoing process optimization.

A comprehensive range of wire processing technologies

Beyond the INF and ROBO series, Gimax offers a broad portfolio of equipment for the wire industry, including TRS wet drawing lines, TRD dry drawing lines, SBA wire surface finishing and deburring systems, as well as solutions for wire payoff, winding, and handling.

Visitors to wire India 2026 can explore Gimax's technologies and meet the company's team at booth C21 in the Italian Pavilion.
