The Gimax Group at Interwire 2013 Atlanta
Booth 1024
2013 IS AN IMPORTANT YEAR FOR GIMAX.
35 years on the market – since 1978 Gimax has been active on the welding wire market supplying its machinery to manufacturers of ferrous and non-ferrous wire worldwide.
Just over 1200 semi-automatic respoolers of the “POLI” series have been manufactured since the beginning 35 years ago and most of the early ones are still in operation! The majority are for small diameter wire, but many also for large diameter (sub arc) wire too. This machine is still as popular as it was 35 years ago – it has been updated and improved over the years, and it is still going strong.
Building on the enormous experience Gimax gained with the “POLI” series, the fully automatic respooler (“ROBO” series) was designed, patented and put into production 25 years ago and constantly updated and improved. This year sees us reaching the target of 250 automatic respoolers sold. The “ROBO” series can be found producing spool after spool of solid or tubular wire, steel or aluminium in numerous wire manufacturers around the world, which proves that after all this time, it is the only really fully automatic respooler available on the market.
As for the “INF” pail packers, despite an initial large number sold during the 1990s, the popularity for this type of machinery really increased in the past 8-10 years and up to last year 140 units have been produced and shipped worldwide. Gimax is the only manufacturer of this type of machinery that has considered dimensions and ergonomics in its design, the “INF” series occupies 30%-40% less floor space than competitive machinery, while running consistently at speeds of even 35 metres/second (7000 feet/min) thanks to a patent.
To this, add a selection of ancillary equipment or specialised equipment, such as wet drawing and coppering lines for steel wire, shaving lines for aluminium wire, drawing / shaving / cleaning lines for aluminium wire, rewind lines, pay-offs and take-ups. Gimax has made many innovations to its machinery based on the experience it has gained, most of which are covered by international patents.
At INTERWIRE 2013 in Atlanta, Gimax will be exhibiting three of its machines
Customers who visit the booth will be able to see the new design of the REV, a totally automatic respooling line for precision and/or random winding of welding wire, designed to run solid and tubular wire on small plastic spools. With its new concept in automatic respooling, totally unlike the traditional automatic respooler, it can produce up to 60 small 4” spools per hour, or 30 small 8” per hour.
The INF-2 DRUM PACKER will be another highlight of the show - the Gimax line to coil wire into “no twist” drums remains the most compact and flexible machine on the market. The drum packer is capable of reaching a constant speed of 4000 feet / minute with most welding wires. This same machine has been supplied to handle steel flux cored wire, 5356 aluminum, stainless steel, CuSi brazing wire.
Both of these machines will be in operation and can be fully demonstrated at the show.
We will also have a POLIDIGITAL SAW semi-automatic respooler on show, designed specifically for large diameter wire.
