No Twist Coiler: brief history of the coiling machine that revolutionized the wire industry
1992
It was back in 1992 as Lämneå Bruk, the Sweden-based wire machinery specialist, launched the first wire coiling machine NTC (No Twist Coiler). This highly versatile and adaptable machine allows for quick and precise coiling of wire with a speed of up to 40 m per second. It is suitable for different wire types: solid wire, staple, flux core wire, spring wire. The No Twist Coiler can be used with drums of different shapes and sizes. It is user-friendly with an up-to-date PLC control system and eye-level display.
2016
The newest innovation was presented at last edition of the wire show in Düsseldorf in 2016: The No Twist Coiler (NTC) for Spring Wire. The greatest advantage provided by this coiling system is that no further straighteners are needed, as the NTC reverses the pre-twist and the wire comes out twist-free and straight. A new standard for set for bedding and seating wire and spring wire coiling. The results are springs of the highest quality and a reduction of wire usage per spring.
2019
The No Twist Coiler's success story was continued and crowned with the No Twist Coiler 1200 launch, a truly revolutionary machine for the wire industry (in the picture). Not many other appliances allow to streamline the wire production process as the NTC 1200 does. This state-of-the-art machine can be used off-line but more effectively in-line with the wire drawing machine. The NTC 1200 acts as take-up for the drawing machine, while in the next step of production the inverted carrier is used as a wire pay-off and placed directly onto the floor. One of the major advantages is the handling of the package as undriven pay-off, resulting in twist-free and straight wire. This coiler is truly an energy saver, streamlines the manufacturing process and has significantly lower downtimes due to continuous production capabilities.
