Wire and cable technologies: high-speed drawing, stranding, and extrusion
Among MFL Group's solutions for the non-ferrous sector is its multiwire drawing line, designed to increase productivity while reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements. The line reaches drawing speeds of up to 35 m/s and can process up to 48 wires through 15 to 33 dies. It also features optimized elongation and a quick die change system that eliminates the need for time-consuming re-stringing operations.
For bunching and stranding applications, MFL Group offers double-twist machines capable of processing rigid, flexible, and sectoral conductors, as well as performing selected laying-up operations for insulated cables. Accommodating bobbins up to 2,500 mm, the double-twist strander features an automated reel extraction system that eliminates manual intervention during reel changeovers, together with a patented non-contact signal transmission system.
Extrusion technology is another key area of MFL Group's offering, with solutions capable of increasing throughput by up to 40%. The systems allow rapid compound changeovers without barrel disassembly and are designed to process high-quality compounds, including halogen-free materials. A patented extruder design, precise melt temperature control, and stable processing conditions contribute to consistent performance and production efficiency.
Steel wire and rope production: from rod preparation to stranding
In the ferrous sector, MFL Group brings decades of experience in machinery for low-relaxation prestressed concrete (LRPC) wire and PC strand production. With hundreds of PC strand production lines delivered worldwide, the Group continues to develop technologies focused on performance and energy efficiency.
Its solutions include mechanical descaling and phosphate coating systems, integrated in-line with the drawing machine to optimize rod preparation.
