Froma, technology and customized solutions for wire processing

Froma, technology and customized solutions for wire processing

With more than fifty years of experience in the design of wire processing machinery, Froma returns to wire Düsseldorf, reaffirming its role as a technology partner across many industrial sectors. The company will be exhibiting in Hall 17, stand A59, where it will showcase its expertise in the development of customized equipment and production lines.

Froma’s technological development from 1967 to the present

Founded in 1967 by Riccardo Frigerio, Froma began as a developer of machinery for processing small metal components. Starting with tapping and straightening machines, the company has steadily expanded its portfolio, introducing increasingly automated solutions for the production of welded wire mesh and a wide variety of industrial applications, including guardrail reinforcements, dishwasher baskets, and retail shopping carts.

Since the 1990s, Froma has focused on the development of systems for manufacturing dishwasher baskets and other components that require a high degree of customization combined with consistent production performance. A key strength of the company lies in its ability to integrate custom engineering with a well-structured manufacturing process: all assembly operations are carried out in-house, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, supported by an internal tooling department dedicated to component manufacturing and optimization.

Three key areas of technological development

Today, Froma’s engineering expertise is organized into three main application areas.

The first focuses on machinery for the production of household appliance components, with dedicated lines for processing metal wire into oven and cooktop grids, refrigerator shelves, dishwasher baskets, and oven side racks. The range encompasses bending machines, transfer lines, fully automated lines, and welding systems, including rotary table configurations.

The second area covers metal components manufacturing for the large-scale retail sector. Froma supplies solutions ranging from semi-automatic welding machines to fully automated welding and bending lines, used for producing cart frames, containers, doors, shelving systems, and wire structures.

The third area is dedicated to machinery for the production of welded wire mesh and components for the construction industry. In this field, the company has developed specialized expertise in designing lines for welded mesh, reinforcement elements, and three-dimensional panels such as Ecopanel. This capability is further strengthened by an internal R&D division focused on developing solutions tailored to specific customer requirements.

wire Düsseldorf as a key meeting point for the industry

Looking ahead, Gaia Frigerio, CEO of the company, highlights the importance of participating in the wire trade show as an opportunity to engage with the market:

“Our presence at the exhibition is primarily intended to reinforce our market position and to meet with long-standing customers, including major industrial groups we work with, as well as to establish new business relationships.”

According to Frigerio, the exhibition also remains a valuable platform for monitoring international market trends:

In recent years, some companies have shifted toward more specialized trade shows or those closer to emerging markets, or have increased their investment in multichannel communication, reducing their direct presence at the Düsseldorf exhibition.”

She concludes:

Despite these changes, wire Düsseldorf continues to be a key reference point for the wire and tube industry and an important opportunity to assess trends across different global markets.”
