Machines for wire drawing plants

Tecno Impianti S.r.l. designs and manufactures a wide range of machinery for wire drawing plants.
Drawing bullblocks with horizontal axis Mod. MO
The MO series drawing bullblocks with horizontal axis are suitable for coil-to-coil drawing of cold heading wire ranging from 6.0 to 38.0 mm. Designed for high-volume production, they are intended for wire drawing plants focused on cold heading applications, as well as manufacturers of large-size fasteners. These machines supporto coil-to-coil processing, feeding presses with drawn wire wound on spools or in tied coils.
The drawn wire is collected on a rotating carousel placed in a pit in front of the drawing block and can be wound onto spools or collected as tied coils, which are removed via a dedicated extraction system.
The lines are equipped with AC drives and frequency converters (inverters), and are supplied complete with a decoiler, wire pointing machine, take-up carousel, coil compactor, and strapping machine.
Drawing bullblocks with vertical axis Mod. MV-MVC
Drawing bullblocks with vertical axis are used for drawing small-to-medium diameter cold heading wire. Model MV covers wire diameters from 4.0 to 12.0 mm while model MVC is suitable for wire diameters from 5.0 to 9.0 mm.
In the MVC models, the drawn wire can be wound on a coil carrier spool placed directly below the drawing capstan, while the MV model uses a vertical spooler for wire take-up.
Multi-pass straight-line wire drawing machines Mod. TR
The TR series straight-line multi-pass wire drawing machines consist of modular drawing blocks arranged in series, with automatic control and direct regulation of drafts and speeds via pneumatically balanced dancer arms. They are suitable for drawing low, medium, and high carbon steel wire.
The modular layout includes inclined forged C50 steel capstans, heat-treated to HRC62 for extended durability. The cooling system, developed by Tecno Impianti, uses stainless steel for high performance. Die boxes, available as fixed or rotating, allow for single or double dies, both with direct cooling. Each capstan is driven by an AC motor with inverter and servo-assisted ventilation; speed is regulated via dancer arms at each stage. Process control is managed by a PLC with self-diagnosis and Ethernet connectivity.
Optional features include: stearate fume extraction, accumulator or stripper capstans, die boxes with mixers, ceramic or tungsten carbide coatings, and laser systems for wire diameter measurement.
Wet wire drawing machines Mod. TI
These are multi-steps cone drawing machines for wet drawing galvanized or copper-coated wire (with dedicated tanks).
Available in two versions with two or four cones, they reach speeds of up to 15 or 20 m/s. Both versions include a cooled dry drawing die box, immersion lubrication tank, hardened steel pulling rings and tungsten carbide-coated pulleys, rotating die at the exit, and black ceramic capstans for improved wear resistance.
The wire can be fed from coils or spools and is wound on spoolers suited for various sizes. Cone group movement is controlled by a pneumatic cylinder with safety lock. An electronic system with thermocouples and stainless steel heat exchanger automatically regulates bath temperature. Control is via PLC with Ethernet network, allowing remote monitoring and settings.
Horizontal spoolers Mod. BO
The BO series horizontal spoolers designed and built by Tecno Impianti are intended for winding smooth or ribbed wire on fixed or split spools. Compatible with cold heading drawing lines, immersion lines for galvanized or copper-coated wire, and cold rolling lines, these spoolers offer a reliable and versatile solution for wire drawing plants and processing facilities.
Available in various sizes to suit different production needs, they can be supplied with an integrated spool tilting system for automatic vertical positioning after extraction. An automatic strapping system is also available, optimizing end-of-line operations and facilitating handling and storage of finished material. Robust, efficient, and easy to integrate into existing lines, BO spoolers ensure orderly and safe winding of drawn or rolled wire, enhancing overall line productivity.
Vertical spoolers Mod. BV-BVD
The BV series vertical spoolers offer robust and versatile solutions for winding smooth or ribbed wire on fixed or split spools. Compatible with cold heading drawing lines, as well as low, medium, and high carbon steel drawing, and cold rolling lines, these spoolers are available in various sizes to meet different production applications.
To enhance efficiency and reduce downtime, Tecno Impianti also offers the dual-spool BVD version, which enables alternate use of two spools. Models can be configured with manual cutting or automatic wire clamping and cutting systems. Available accessories include an automatic coil strapping system, streamlining handling and logistic operations.
Static coilers Mod. AV-AVT
Tecno Impianti designs and manufactures static coilers for winding drawn wire downstream of straight-line drawing machines. These robust and reliable machines ensure orderly collection with a rosette winding system, ideal for subsequent wire handling or processing.
In the version equipped with drawing step, static coilers can also function as standalone skinpass units, providing increased operational flexibility within the production line.
Vertical uncoilers Mod. SV-SVR
The SV and SVR series vertical uncoilers by Tecno Impianti are designed for feeding wire drawing lines. The SV series, featuring a double tilting arm, allows for horizontal coil loading and continuous uncoiling with coil-to-coil welding, and can be integrated with wire accumulator and snag detection system. The SVR series, for use with single-block lines, includes a tilting arm and a secure stop system in case of snags.
Coil compactors Mod. CR
The CR series coil compactors by Tecno Impianti are designed for use with MO series drawing blocks. Drawn wire is extracted from the carousel via an extractor and transferred to the compactor, where hydraulic cylinders compress the coil. The compacted coil is then strapped and tilted to a horizontal position, ready for forklift extraction. This is an efficient solution for safely and orderly handling of drawn wire.
Hydraulic pushers Mod. T
The Mod. T hydraulic pushers are designed to facilitate wire insertion during the initial stages of rolling, particularly when pointing is difficult. Installed in-line with drawing machines or die-holder blocks, these units incorporate the die support within the pusher, enabling automated wire insertion sequences. Compatible with both powder and oil-based lubricants, they are available in a range of versions configurable according to specific production process requirements.
Pointing machines Mod. AT
AT pointing machines play a key role in preparing wire for drawing, forming the wire point through a rolling process. Tecno Impianti offers 9 models covering diameters from 1.0 to 20.0 mm:
- models AT/3 through AT/10 are equipped with two horizontal cylinders;
- models AT/16 and AT/20 also include two vertical cylinders for greater effectiveness;
- model AT/14 is available in two- or four-cylinder versions.
All configurations can be supplied on a fixed base or on a trolley to suit different production layouts.
Wire feeders Mod. INT
INT model units are developed for inserting medium and large diameter wires, particularly when using vertical axis payoffs. They can be installed upstream of in-line drawing machines, cold heading presses, or systems with die-holder blocks. Equipped with pneumatically or hydraulically driven feeder rollers, they include pre-straightening rollers adjustable in three ways: manually, pneumatically, or hydraulically. Upon request, a shear can be integrated at the system outlet.
Spool tilters Mod. RB
RB tilters are designed for the safe handling of spools, allowing conversion from horizontal to vertical orientation and vice versa. Built to specification, they are equipped with a 90° tilting platform, centering and locking devices, hydraulic system, and electric controls (available with push-button or radio control). Photoelectric barriers ensure protection during operation.
