Feedback from the field has been outstanding:

An in-house development backed by 3 years of rigorous R&D as well as in field testing; the QED AutoCoatTM System is engineered to upgrade existing galvanizing and Galfan® process lines. It allows for reliable production of precisely coated wire via independent measurement and fine-tune control. QED’s AutoCoatTM is capable of true real time analysis and individual closed loop control of multiple wires when combined with the signature N2 Wiping System.
At the core of this 2nd generation coating weight control system are the new eddy-current sensors that deliver consistent and accurate coating measurements to ±10 g/m2. This innovative system insures premium quality, high efficiency, and significant material savings.

A quality product from an industry leader:

QED is a custom furnace manufacturer and engineering company specializing in process equipment for the steel wire industry. Known as "The Process Line Specialists" and your supplier of wire industry equipment, QED proudly serves customers in over 20 countries. The leading-edge furnaces are custom built for multi-strand annealing, stress relieving, patenting and tempering processes.  With over 25 years of industry experience and innovation, the corporate patented equipment is backed by QED's renowned excellence in service. With commissioning and installation supervision, as well as spare parts support, QED provides a complete package for processing wire. QED equipment offers solutions for all steps in your process including: Heat Treatment, Wet Sections, Metal Coating, Wiping Systems, Spare Parts and Technical Services. Our offerings Include:

Large blue industrial heat treatment furnace system with multiple interconnected chambers, extensive overhead piping, and a foreground blower, all situated within a brightly lit factory setting.Energy Efficient Fluidbed Furnaces:
With a bed of fine aluminum oxide particles and precise air & gas control, the fluidbed furnaces offer an environmentally friendly heat-treating solution in an energy efficient package. The fluidbed’s rapid heat transfer results in significantly shorter furnace length and therefore more compact and easier to operate process lines.

Blue industrial processing line with pipes and control panels in a factory settingPulse-Firing Muffle Tube Furnace:
The addition of pulse-firing technology to QED’s muffle tube austinitizing furnace improves the thermal efficiency and increases temperature uniformity. This is owing to the higher average flame velocity and superior convective heat-transfer. Pulse firing also offers; a higher turn-down ratio, lower NOx emissions and more flexibility in burner and zone control.

Industrial electrical control panels featuring a detailed operator interface with rows of red, yellow, and blue indicator lights, push buttons, and toggle switches, alongside internal electrical components like contactors and wiring.Networked Panels with Remote Monitoring and Control:
A powerful S7 Siemens PLC is at the heart of the furnace control systems. Programmed with user friendly software and advanced combustion algorithms, QED’s control panels deliver precision gas flow and accurate temperature control. One of the interesting new developments is web enabled systems for smartphone monitoring and remote troubleshooting of control panels.

Industrial plant interior showing a long production line of specialized processing equipment, featuring multiple grey units connected by yellow and blue pipes, with an elevated blue and yellow platform in the background.Advanced Combustion Technology:
With a view to improved efficiency and to minimize environmental impact, QED developed a dual loop pressure/temperature combustion control system. This patented system maintains a steady output with precise air-gas ratio on all multiple burner furnaces.

Industry leading Galvanizing & Galfan® Coating technology:
QED's latest development in ceramic lined furnaces is the Mark 4 ART (Advanced Recuperative Technology) Immersion Burner. This burner offers dramatically higher combustion efficiency from an extended double pass pre-heat design. Constructed of stainless and high nickel alloy steels, QED burners have an extended operating lifespan and a much cooler skin temperature.

Industrial electrochemical processing unit with multiple parallel rows of white electrodes inside a tank, typically used for electroplating or water treatment.Powerful Pre-Clenaing Equipment with Ultrasonics:
QED latest wire cleaning equipment is a dual-stage pre-cleaner with powerful ultrasonic transducers. This precision laser-cut stainless-steel tank incorporates new temperature and level control features. The wires exit the cleaning section into a triple water rinse with innovative 4 stage suction wiping.

Industrial processing line featuring multiple blue machines connected by gray piping, red-handled valves, and yellow electrical wiring in a factory.Patented Pickling Equipment:
A proven performer; QED HighTurbulence™ Pickling System optimizes fluid flow to breakdown the static boundary layer surrounding the wires and rapidly remove scale. With multiple cascading stages, this efficient system lowers acid consumption and minimizes waste treatment requirements.

SKF centralized lubrication control system featuring nine individual flow meters with manual adjustment valves, integrated with a large industrial machine's numerous lubrication points and white hoses.Versatile Wire Wiping Systems:
QED’s Space saving Vertical Wiping Systems offer maximum production flexibility and ease of operation. The single wire modular concept permits a mixed production of commercial and heavy coatings to be run simultaneously. Both Vertical Pad modules and N2 Wiping modules can be quickly interchanged on a per wire basis. Operating a field of 50 wires or more can be easily managed from the ergonomically positioned wiping modules.
Nitrogen Module
The N2 Wiping System is designed for medium and heavy coatings of zinc or Galfan® at a broad range of wire speeds. QED latest generation nozzle applies a smooth, consistent and concentric coating. The low-profile split-nozzle design provides for simple operation and easy wire threading. The innovative nozzle holder is adjustable in all three axes for quick alignment with the wire.

Vertical Pad Module
The QED Vertical Pad Wiping System applies a smooth bright commercial zinc coating to the wires in an ergonomic and operator friendly design.

Technical schematic of an automated liquid nitrogen dosing and cryogenic cooling system. It illustrates a quench and mix station, precise weight-based dosing with cooling weight sensors, nitrogen flow control, and a vial handling mechanism, all integrated with process computers and an operator interface.Precision Coat Weight Control:
Using advanced sensors, the QED AutoCoatTM system continuously reads and controls the coating weight on each wire. This fully automatic closed loop system allows for accurate coating weight control to ±10 g/m2 resulting in significant savings of Zinc or Galfan® and a fast payback of the capital expense.
