New chamber forging furnace: ICMI focuses on energy efficiency and reliability

In the forging industry, where high operating temperatures challenge equipment durability, furnace reliability is essential to ensure continuous operation, consistent product quality, and high productivity.
To meet these requirements, ICMI Industrial Furnaces has introduced its latest development: a fixed-hearth chamber furnace designed to heat steel semi-finished products up to 1,280 °C, the typical temperature required for forging applications.
A furnace for steel semi-finished products heating
The furnace was prefabricated at ICMI Industrial Furnaces' workshop before delivery and installation. This approach allows the furnace to be built in-house, where the assembly of the main components can be verified, helping streamline the subsequent installation activities at the customer's production site.
Regenerative combustion improves energy efficiency
The real technological core of the project is the regenerative combustion system, a proven solution that ICMI has successfully adopted forhigh-temperature industrial furnaces operating in the1,280 °C–1,300 °C range.
In the demanding, continuous operating conditions of a forging shop, this technology improves overall energy efficiency and optimizes energy consumption management while maintaining the temperature uniformity required by the customer.
