SO.TEC, engineering for industrial air purification

Complex industrial processing generates dust and fumes which are harmful to humans and the environment. The role of purification systems producers is therefore essential. Nicola Tagliabue's experience.

Air purification at industrial level is a key sector for the entire national economy. Enterprises modernise from a technological point of view by adopting new machinery and production systems. Mechanical processing performed through machine tools produces substances which are harmful to humans and the environment. Thus, the intervention of specialised operators becomes fundamental. Italy boasts enterprises which are at the forefront of this industry and that over the years have constantly modernised by means of innovative technology, understanding the ethical and economic value of this kind of business. One of them is So.Tec, leading enterprise in the design and provision of air purification systems and complete technological solutions.

This engineering company based in Bergamo developed, more than twenty years ago, the coalescence technology for the filtration of oil fumes containing graphite produced by hot brass forging processes and oil mist generated by different mechanical processes. As far as oil mist treatment is concerned, to date the group has installed over 200 medium/large size plants in Italy and abroad (up to 180,000m3/h for a single system capacity). In addition, more than 600 plants for industrial dedusting have been installed especially in Italy. So.Tec's turnover is increasing, as evidenced by 2015 figures showing a 15% growth compared to the previous year. "Last year ended with a positive outcome, we installed several industrial purification turnkey systems all over the world, especially those concerning oil mist treatment." Nicola Tagliabue, So.Tec's CEO, is proud of his group which is among the first-class businesses of this sector. "Our engineering company has always employed cutting-edge technology, investing in know-how development and trying to expand to new industrial fields. The domestic market is idle, however, today there are some recovery signals. Nonetheless, our most important target is Europe. Sales abroad represent around 30% of our turnover."
