One product, a thousand possibilities: choose Raajratna Italy’s stainless steel spring wire

Stainless steel spring wire is a highly versatile and dependable material, widely used across numerous industries.

Small-diameter wires offer excellent flexibility and lower tensile strength, making them ideal for precision applications such as watch springs, medical instruments, and electronic components. These fine wires are also well-suited for artistic uses, including jewelry and decorative metalwork.

Large-diameter wires, in contrast, provide greater strength and are commonly used in demanding applications such as vehicle suspensions, industrial clamping systems, and heavy machinery. Thanks to their corrosion resistance and durability, they are also suitable for aggressive environments like the chemical, food processing, and marine industries.

This wide range of applications reflects the diversity of specifications and materials available on the market—something Raajratna Italy addresses with an extensive product offering.

Stainless steel spring wire by Raajratna Italy: dimensional range and grades

Raajratna Italy, the Italian subsidiary of Raajratna Metal Industries Ltd (India), offers premium spring wires from 0.06 mm to 22.00 mm in diameter. Available grades include AISI/EN 302 (1.4310), 304 (1.4301), 316 (1.4401-1.4404), and 631 (1.4568). Finishes include stearate-coated (drawn in powder) or bright (drawn in oil) wire.

Additional alloy options such as Nitronic 50, Inconel X-750, AISI 301, and AISI 904L are also available upon request. All wires can be tested using Eddy-Current methods for non-destructive testing (NDT).

Nickel-coated spring wires

Nickel-coated wires offer superior spring coiling performance due to better lubrication, resulting in increased productivity and lower wear on equipment. Nickel also provides clean soldering properties post-cleaning and prevents discoloration during tempering. While nickel is not corrosion-resistant in oxidizing acids, it can be easily removed with nitric acid for specific applications.

Summing up, benefits of nickel-coated spring wire include:

- high-speed coiling lubrication
- no discoloration after heat treatment
- effective cleaning in alkaline solutions
- clean, dust-free working environment
- excellent soldering properties after degreasing

Surface finish

Raajratna spring wires are available with either a stearate-coated finish (powder drawn) or a bright finish (oil drawn). As mentioned above, both finishes can also be applied with a thin nickel layer, further enhancing lubricity and coiling performance.
