Inside Trafilerie Galli: between stability and new horizons

Despite a complex market environment, 2025 closed on a positive note for Trafilerie Galli, an Italian company specializing in the production of precision cold-drawn steel wire for a wide range of industrial sectors — from mechanical engineering and automotive to components and fasteners.
Built on extensive experience in wire drawing and renowned for its service reliability and product quality, the company maintained stable production volumes and achieved solid overall results, confirming the strength and consistency of its operating model.
A steady 2025 driven by quality and service
“The stability in our production volumes stems from the quality and service we have always guaranteed to our customers,” explains Mario Galli, CEO of the company. “In times of great uncertainty, maintaining the trust of the market is essential for us.”
On the profitability side, Galli notes that 2025 was affected by rising energy and labor costs, as well as additional expenses related to waste management, supply chains, and logistics.
“We weren’t able to fully offset these increases in the final product price, but our company structure absorbed the impact reasonably well,” he adds.
CBAM and outlook for 2026–2027
Looking ahead, Trafilerie Galli sees the CBAM — the European Union’s new Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism — as a potential factor in rebalancing the market.
“In our view, the introduction of CBAM should help limit the inflow of non-EU material, both in the form of drawn wire and generic steel products, something that would clearly benefit us,” comments Galli.
In this perspective, the company reaffirms its commitment to continuous development. New projects and products are already in the pipeline for 2026–2027, in line with a growth strategy focused on sustainability and quality.
