Cable & Wire Fair postponed to May 2022

The 4th edition of Cable & Wire Fair has been rescheduled to 18, 19, and 20 May 2022 due to the persisting Covid-19 pandemic. Initially, the event was slated for 1, 2, and 3 March. This postponement aims to relocate the fair when the loosening of restrictions could lead to greater participation. The industry is desperately waiting to get back to business face-to-face: CWF is all set to give the much-needed momentum, promising a larger show.

Market outlook
Numerous interesting factors are expected to boost the local wire and cable market. Among the main ones are the ‘Saubhagya’ scheme, introduced to achieve universal household electrification, the growth in renewable energy due to climate change commitments at COP26, and the rollout of 5G and 6G technologies.

The Indian government has also planned to significantly expand and revamp railways, roadways, highways, and metro lines. Furthermore, the UDAN scheme aims to operationalize 100 new airports in the next few years, while bullet train projects should kick off in 2022-23.

Last but not least, the ‘Make in India’ initiative aims at attracting the investments of mobile and electrical appliance companies, making the country a hub for manufacturing and innovation. The electric vehicle industry is picking pace, which calls for new manufacturing facilities and improved charging infrastructure. Real estate players are gearing up for developing projects with the dipping home loan rates.

Cable & Wire Fair 2022 promises to provide the industry with a business networking platform. Like the previous editions, the 2022 show will include the Innovation Pavilion, technical conferences, and the CEO Conclave.
