China’s top 10 steelmakers in 2010 ranked by production. The following table ranks China’s top 10 steelmakers by 2010 production, according to research company UC361.com, citing the China Iron and Steel Association. China’s 10 biggest steelmakers produced a combined 304.7 million metric tons of crude steel last year, making up 49 percent of the nation’s total, UC361.com said. That compares with 45 percent in 2009, it said. Angang New Co. was formed in July after Anshan Iron & Steel Group won government approval to take over rival Pangang Group Co. Angang’s output figure also includes production by Benxi Iron & Steel Group. Tianjin Bohai Iron & Steel Group was also established in July from a combination of four state-owned producers in the northern city of Tianjin. Production is in million metric tons. 1.
