Chronicles from the Wire & Cable and Tube India 2012
On Thursday, 1 November India's largest and most important exhibition for the wire, cable, tube, metallurgy and welding industry closed its doors. Four events in one took place at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre: Wire & Cable India, Tube India, Metallurgy India and India Essen Welding & Cutting. The latter section was quite impressive, hosting lots of Indian companies manufacturing welding machines.
The turnout has been good, mostly from Indian visitors. According to official data, a total of 10,500 attendees came to view the latest technologies visiting the four shows. Wire India hosted 291 exhibitors from 25 countries on 5,560 sqms of net exhibit space; 172 exhibitors from 26 nations displayed their products on 2.800 sqms of net exhibit space at Tube and Metallurgy India; while 121 exhibitors from 10 countries took part in Schweissen & Schneiden India.
Delegations coming from different countries took part in the exhibition. Wire and Cable India hosted an Italian area, led by ACIMAF, the Italian Wire Machinery Manufacturers Association, as well as national pavilions from Austria, China, France, Germany and the United States. Of course, there was a considerable number of Indian exhibitors.
The staff of expometals.net - in the person of Mr. Dell'Oro and Dr. Di Maggio - was present at the exhibition to show to all exhibiting companies the latest release of the portal, with good results. In fact, during the event, six new companies have decided to rely on this web platform for their international communication.
The new companies you'll soon see online with their own web showcase on the portal are:
- FIB (Belgium), manufacturer of industrial furnaces, most of all used to process steel wires
- Niehoff (Germany), producing machines and lines for wire drawing and wire processing
- OFFICINE MTM (Italy), in the business of building tube production machinery
- PS COSTRUZIONI (Italy), which offers automatic coils and spools winding lines and rewinding lines
- Supermac Industries (India), manufacturer of extrusion lines
- ZT ITALY (Italy), which offers various types of machines for the wire industry.
Here are the pictures of the event.
The final press release of the WIRE & CABLE INDIA 2012 show reports the comments of some of the exhibitors:
“The trade fair clearly improved and we are pleased with the visitor participation. There is still a lot of potential in India and even if it is not comparable to China, the development in India is positive."
Heinz Rockenhaeuser, President, International Wire & Cable Exhibitors Association (IWCEA) and President & CEO of Maschinenfabrik NIEHOFF GmbH & Co. KG
“Most of our talks were meaningful. We have active projects and hope to close one or two contracts quickly. Overall, we are pleased with the turnout. India is an emerging market and the climate is more hopeful.”
Rahul Sachdev, President, Wire and Cable Industry Suppliers Association (WCISA) and Executive Vice President of WIRE & PLASTICS MACHINERY Co.
“The organization of the show was good. I made promising contacts and despite the economic situation, we feel that the industry in Asia will again start to grow in the near future. Let us send an optimistic message to the industry.”
Ferruccio Bellina, President, Italian Wire & Cable Manufacturers Association (ACIMAF)
