ESTAD heads to Italy: European Steel Technology and Application Days set to begin

From October 6 to 9, 2025, Verona will host the seventh edition of ESTAD – European Steel Technology and Application Days, a key conference for the European steel industry.

 

A meeting point for the entire steel supply chain

 

Organized by AIM (Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia), the event will bring together producers, suppliers, end-users, universities, research centers, and plant engineers from across Europe. This edition also marks the 10th anniversary of the conference, established to become a technical and scientific benchmark for the steel sector.

 

The focus will be on technological innovation across the steel value chain, with particular attention to production processes and plant design, while addressing both ecological and digital transition. Core topics will include raw material evolution, advanced steel applications, hydrogen-based production technologies, and strategies for CO₂ reduction.

 

Main themes and technical areas

 

The program will cover a wide range of technical areas, including:

 

- Ironmaking and steelmaking
- Rolling (long and flat products), forging
- Steel materials, applications, additive manufacturing, surface technologies
- Decarbonization, sustainability, energy efficiency
- Digital transformation in processes and manufacturing infrastructure

 

Programme outline

 

The conference will begin on Monday, October 6 with early registration. It will fully kick off on Tuesday, October 7 with the plenary session, the first technical presentations, and an informal networking moment. Wednesday, October 8 will feature the congress dinner, while the final sessions will be held on Thursday, October 9.
