Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the raw steel production in metallurgical plants decreased 26% year-on-year in August, compared to the 28.8% fall in the previous month. Raw steel production amounted to 2.95 million tonnes in August, larger than the 2.69 million tonnes in July. At the same time, production of pig iron dropped 27.9% to 1.83 million tonnes, compared to the 31.1% decline recorded in the preceding month.
