Indonesia sets up cooperation with China's Henan province
Indonesia sets up business cooperation with China's Henan province. A business delegation from China's Henan province visited the Indonesian Industrial Ministry on Monday and signed several business agreements. The delegation, led by Henan Governor Guo Gengmao and comprising over 100 businessmen from various sectors, came to Indonesia with an aim to invest and set up business cooperation with Indonesian counterparts. During the visit, Indonesian steel corporation Mandan Steel signed an agreement with its Henan counterpart Zhengzhou Yong Tong Special Steel Corporation. Zhengzhou Yong Tong and Mandan Steel already operated a steel plant in Indonesia's South Kalimantan province using domestic raw materials. The agreement signed the two steel plants was regarded as the good momentum to improve the business in the two countries amid the improving Indonesia-China relationship and efforts to seek investors and opening more markets in the two countries. "Cooperation with the Henan province delegation was mostly expected as a place to share information in seeking business breakthrough and improving collaboration between the two sides, particularly in industrial technology and vocational training," Indonesian Industrial Minister Fahmi Idris said. He said that the cooperation is also expected to help Indonesia to become 'the next emerging country' after BRIC countries, which consisted of Brazil, Russia, India and China. The Henan delegation arrived in Indonesia on Aug. 22 and will end its visit on Aug. 25.
