Iranian steel production increases by over 10%.
Khodamorad Ahmadi, CEO of the Iranian Mines, Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), said that Iranian steel production increased by 10.6% and steel products by 5.1% from March 21 (the start of the year in Iran) to November 21, compared with the same period in 2010, Iran News reports. Iran produced 9.044 million tons of steel and 8.177 million tons of steel products in the period. Ahmadi underlined that the private sector increased steel production from 532 tons in 2010 to 802 tons in 2011 (+50.8%).
