India. Jindal Steel plans to commission steel plant in Orissa.
Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) plans to commission steel plant in Angul district of Orissa by October 2010 having a capacity of 6 million tons per annum (MTPA), reports Business Standard.
The first phase will have a capacity of 3 mtpa at an investment of Rs 40 billion for the acquisition of land, equipments and placing orders for equipments.
The company is planning to invest about Rs 150 billion in the facility at Angul apart from an investment of Rs 500 billion for a 1500 Mw power plant.
The company plans to spend Rs 50 million on various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
