Lugano Commodity Forum scheduled for June 04 - 05
The Lugano Commodity Forum will take place for the first time at the prestigious Palazzo dei Congressi of Lugano (Switzerland) on the 4th and 5th June, 2014. Organized by The Lantern Research thanks to joining forces with FARO Club (the International Commodities Club), the third edition will represent an opportunity for the commodities players.
The 3rd edition of the Lugano Commodity Forum (LCF) is an important event dedicated to commodity traders, users and investors, organized in the Italian part of Switzerland (Canton of Ticino), offering also an exposition area that will receive about 40 companies.
The program will be focused on the following 5 sessions:
· Gold and precious metals
· Steel and base metals
· Oil, Coal and energy (including renewables)
· Agricultural commodities
· Shipping, logistics, financing, hedging, insurance and other services
The appointment will be dedicated to Northern Africa and Sub-Saharian area, with a special focus on risks and opportunities in the trading/production of commodities.
On that argument, there will be a Panel on risks and business opportunities in Northern Africa, with the participation of Hechmi Chatmen (Director FIPA Tunisia, Milano), Alfredo Carmine Cestari (Chairman Camera di Commercio ItalAfrica Centrale) and a representative from the most important North African bank.
FARO Club will enrich the program with two different Outlook on commodities market: the first one on the metal sector will be held by Paolo Kauffmann (Ceo of FARO, The International Commodities Club) focusing on technical analysis and correlations between commodity markets, currencies and stock exchanges, as the best way to gain essential, professional insights into the global business markets. The second one will be on agricultural commodities, thanks to the participation of Andrea Guarneri (Analyst and trader at Kommodities Partners Sa).
Attendees will gain new points of view during the Valbury Capital presentation on broking between Europe and Asia (with a specific focus on Indonesia), which is the world’s largest producer for many commodity products.
Many workshops on precious metals, expecially gold, will complete the edition. Among the speakers, Massimo Siano (Head of Italian desk at ETF Securities) and Marino Pieterse (strategic commodity analyst, publisher and editor of investment reports on gold, uranium and strategic metals).
Among speakers, a representative from Schroders, with the speech “fundamental approach: active management of commodity futures” and Emanuele Norsa (Platts) on Steel in Algeria, Egypt and Turkey.
