wire Düsseldorf 2026 expands its scope to cables

A dedicated area for the cable technologies powering digital infrastructure
From 13 to 17 April 2026, wire Düsseldorf will return with a major new feature: the World of Cables in Hall 13. For the first time, this dedicated area will focus on cables as finished products, underlining their expanding role in a rapidly digitalizing and electrified world.
In today’s landscape, data centers, AI-powered systems, and electric infrastructure require high-performance, highly reliable cable solutions. From the rise of cloud computing and industrial IoT to broadband networks and smart grids, cables have become essential components in some of the fastest-growing sectors globally.
The World of Cables brings these end products into the spotlight, showcasing their impact in key applications such as high-voltage energy transmission, fiber optics for telecom and data, and custom cable assemblies for automation and robotics.
Daniel Ryfisch, Director of Messe Düsseldorf, explains:
“With World of Cables, we’re putting the real stars of the industry on stage – the end products! Because without cables, nothing works – neither high-tech nor sustainability.”
Innovation, sustainability, and performance
Visitors will explore the latest developments in intelligent cable systems, advanced insulation materials, and recyclable solutions, with a strong emphasis on sustainable manufacturing and real-world integration. Dedicated forums and live demos will foster dialogue between manufacturers, developers, and integrators, especially those serving data, energy, and industrial automation markets.
Celebrating 40 years of wire
This edition of wire Düsseldorf also marks its 40th anniversary.
“We’ll be celebrating this in style in 2026 – 40 years of wire, 40 years of innovation on the Rhine,” says Mr. Ryfisch. “What’s particularly cool is that many exhibitors have been there from the very beginning.”
Following the thread: from wire to cable and beyond
The introduction of World of Cables continues wire Düsseldorf’s strategic expansion beyond raw materials and processing, aligning with previous initiatives that have integrated spring making, fastener production, and mesh welding technologies into the event. By showcasing the entire value chain of cable manufacturing—from upstream processes to final applications—this new area reinforces the fair’s commitment to covering not only the wire itself, but also the industries and components it enables.
