Russian Stainless Steel Development Association: Stainless Steel Imports to Russia rose +26,4%
According to SpetsStal's estimate, the aggregate volume of imported stainless steel products from Jan to Nov 2011, if compared to the equal period of 2010, rose +26.4% to 223,455 tons. Imports of STS flats rose +28.7%, longs – +55.0%, wire – +20.5% and slabs/ingots – +112.0
Imports of STS seamless and welded tubes decreased by 13.1% and 1.6%, respectively.
The structure of STS imports was formed by flats with a share of 68.1% out of the total STS imports to Russia (Jan-Nov 2010 – 66.9%), followed by: longs – 15.6% (12.7%), welded tubes – 6.7% (8.6%), seamless tubes – 5.9% (8.5%), wire – 2.3% (2.4%) and slabs/ingots – 1.5% (0.9%).
