St. Petersburg Technical Fair 2014 end-of-show release

The 10th edition of St. Petersburg Technical Fair since 2005, took place in the halls of Lenexpo March 12-14 2014. PTFair for another time proved its exceptionally high standards.

A wide range of international trade shows and business events were held on the issues of metallurgy, metalworking, mechanical engineering and high technologies in the framework of PTFair 2014 including the 20th ‘High Technologies. Innovations. Investments’ (HI-TECH) exhibition and congress, Autoprom Russia conference and exhibition, and neighbouring with the St Petersburg City and Russian Regions special event, Partneriat.



Georgy Poltavchenko, the Governor of St. Petersburg visited exhibition stands, spoke to the representatives of foreign exhibitors and marked in his interview that the execution of such large-scale exhibitions, which meet the requirements of the time, fosters ‘strengthening of investment and economic potential of this region and ensuring of favourable business climate’. According to the Governor, St. Petersburg Technical Fair plays the key role among other events of this scale, proving to be a significant event on the agenda of the largest Russian and foreign enterprises in the course of its history.

All in all, 539 companies from 19 countries participated in the events. Along with the Russian companies the following countries showcased their products and technologies: the Czech Republic, Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, Finland, Slovenia, China, Taiwan etc. The Fair also gathered official distributors and dealers for manufacturers from Japan, America, Italy and Switzerland. 6800 trade visitors representing various industry branches attended the three day event. The visitors poll evaluated the high level of event organisation and wisely set overall showcase.

The business events progamme of the PTFair headed by St. Petersburg Industrial Congress, provided an efficient platform for specialists for experience exchange and discussion of the most topical issues of the real economic sector, and determining the tasks for the future. Over 500 specialists took part in conferences, workshops, round tables and presentations. HI-TECH Day in the end of the Fair 2014 offered all participant categories a range of round tables with investment companies and foundations on innovation projects development and fund raising. The Award ceremony for the winners of the Contest ‘The best innovation project and the best scientific and technological development of the year 2014’ concluded the Day program and became a culmination point of the Fair 2014.

227 innovation projects representing St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Moscow Region, Stavropol Region, Khanty Mansi Autonomous District, the Far East, Belarus and Ukraine took 41 diplomas, 90 silver and 90 gold medals, 5 special prizes and Grand-Prix. The experts of the Federal Research Centre for Projects Evaluation and Consulting Services (FRCEC) awarded Grand Prix to the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University and its divisions: Computer Engineering Centre, Computational Mechanics Laboratory and Polytech Engineering.

Next year the events of St Petersburg Technical Fair are pre-planned on the end of March, 24-26 at a brand new city convention venue, ExpoForum exhibition halls.
