Ukraine Jan-Sept Steel Output 26 Million Tons, Up 8.1% On Year. Staff Reporters MetalSource Steel Dow Jones MOSCOW (Dow Jones)--Ukraine produced 26.05 million metric tons of steel in the first nine months of the year, up 8.1% on the year, the government said Monday. Iron output during the period increased 6% on the year to 21.511 million tons. Steel roll output increased 5.4% on the year to 21.688 million tons. Steel output in September was 2.901 million tons, 3% less than in August, while iron output fell 5% on the month to 2.404 million tons. Steel roll output in September was 2.472 million tons, a fall of 2% compared with August. In 2010 Ukraine's steel output increased by 9.6% on the year to 32.726 million tons, iron output increased by 6.5% to 27.354 million tons and steel roll output increased 9% on the year to 29.197 million tons.
