Ukrainian Prime Minister urges modernization of steel industry
Ukrainian Prime Minister urges modernization of steel industry. Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov urged the government to stimulate investments in the steel industry to ensure the nation’s output of the commodity remains competitive on world markets. The rate of renovation in the international steel industry may leave Ukrainian companies “with no chance at foreign markets” should they fail to be modernized in the coming years, Azarov said today at the opening of a weekly government meeting in Kiev. "Ukraine’s metal sector has no prospects without modernization,” he said. The government is prepared to provide “essential help and maximum support” for investment projects for the industry, Azarov said. Steel and chemicals are Ukraine’s main exports.
