WAI’s virtual Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing: registration open!

The recent Industry 4.0 Conference has just ended and The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. is already all set for its next event on schedule: the virtual Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing course.

Aired on October 26-27, 2021, the Industry 4.0 Conference by WAI was the perfect occasion to “understand the far-reaching impact of global digitization and the influence on nearly all aspects of our businesses,” as WAI’s President Tom Heberling of Southwire Co. LLC commented. Big Data, IoT & Industrial IoT, Process Automation, Smart Factories, Smart Planning, Smart Integration, and Virtual Reality were the main topics of the 25-minute keynotes, which also featured the opportunity for both a live chat with the speakers and an interesting interactive discussion.

The virtual Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing course will instead take place – for the second time this year – on December 1 and 8, 2021. 13 industry experts will lead the event, intended as a training and refresher course for all wire and cable players. The two-part series will revolve around the following topics:
● drawing dies;
● mechanics of wire drawing;
● wire breaks & surface damage;
● cable stranding;
● wire drawing lubricants;
● rod & wire cleaning & coating;
● extrusion;
● basics of electrical testing;
● used machinery;
● ferrous heat treatment;
● ferrous metallurgy;
● testing & properties.
As far as prices are concerned, discounts are available for WAI members at $147 USD for full access and $175 for full access plus new WAI membership, whereas the non-member rate is $245.
