wire + Tube 2016: How was the trade show?
On April 4-8 Düsseldorf was once again the scenario for the trade fair duo wire + Tube 2016. More than 2,600 companies exhibited the latest machinery, equipment and products from the wire, cable and tube processing industries on a total net exhibition area of 110,900 square metres – a new record value.
The worldwide steel crisis and the tough economic times didn't impact the new episode of the success story of wire and Tube. A combined total of about 69,500 trade visitors from more than 130 countries attended the two events – just a slight decrease compared to previous edition in 2014, that attracted 72,000 attendees. The quality of the visitors was as high as ever: 75% of them were executives with decision-making authority.
wire, the International Trade Fair for Wire and Cable, and Tube, the International Tube and Pipe Trade Fair, are still the no. 1 shows in these industry segments, as confirmed by the reviews we collected from some of the exhibiting companies and associations:
"After a period of falling prices, since January there has been a significant recovery in the quotations of raw materials. This edition of Tube has been positive. We are very satisfied. More than by the quantity, we were impressed by the quality of visitors - many skilled professionals, especially from France and the Scandinavian countries. The turnout was concentrated in the middle days."
Marco Berera, Acciaitubi Spa
"At a corporate level, our impression was very positive, even better than two years ago. We received many visits, and most of all by qualified operators. As President of ACIMAF, according to some conversations I had with other colleagues, I can say the same. As regards the organization, Messe Düsseldorf's standards are always very good. Worth noting: the significant presence of Iranian professionals; Iran will return to be in my opinion a market to watch."
Ing. Ferruccio Bellina, TKT Group & ACIMAF (Italian Wire Machinery Manufacturers Association)
"Assomac Machines Ltd’s stand has been lively as usual with lots of activity and large presence of visitors. Important topics dominated the exhibitions such as the new climatic regulations concern, the worldwide steel crisis, global economic upheaval... The wire industry leaders from the developed countries have started looking at us - plus, the world is looking at India as a vast market, so there were lots of serious customers both for procuring machinery for the developed countries as also interested in setting up their manufacturing hub in India. Many technological experts visited us to provide technological support. Overall a good response, Düsseldorf is indeed the right place to be for the wire industry."
Nirmal Singh, Assomac Machines Ltd
“We were delighted to see so many IWMA members at wire, making use of the IWMA stand, not only those with exhibition stands, but also the ones just visiting the show. The business centre facilities and meeting room were in constant demand, and it was great to see members using the seating areas to meet clients or just stop for refreshment during long and busy days. Since the IWMA was founded 46 years ago, we have been very proud to have supported the development of wire, and to be a partner of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, which again provided the industry with a fantastic event.”
Amanda Shehab, International Wire Machinery Association
“The MFL Group concludes another successful show in Düsseldorf where we introduced, for the first time, the new companies of the group. We were able to conclude several very important orders during the show and the prospects for the future look very bright.”
Tony DeRosa, MFL Group
"For us it was a debut as exhibitors, a nice way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our foundation. The fair provided a good opportunity to meet our regular customers, but also to establish new relationships. We were very happy with the international presences. The wire show perfectly matches our philosophy to strengthen the presence of Italian products in the world."
Nicola Ciancaglini, Nuova T Srl
“QED was impressed by the quality of and quantity of seriously interested wire producers. It was an excellent show for our company.”
Gord Murray, QED Wire Lines Inc.
“At our booth at the trade show, we presented the fourth release of our portal, which is fully responsive, that is optimized for the vizualization on all devices, mobiles included. Expometals was listed among the most influential specialized media of the industry – a great achievement.”
Davide Dell'Oro, Expometals.net
