Precoats for inline or batch coating systems
Kodiak develops EZCoat™ precoats for ferrous rod, steel, and stainless steel rod and wire. Designed for inline and batch coating systems, the range includes reduced-borax, borax-free, borax-based, and polymer-enhanced formulations to provide durable coatings for different wire processing and drawing requirements.
EZCoat™ precoats range
EZCoat™ PC10: a reduced-borax, sulfate-based precoat that provides a durable crystalline coating on ferrous rod. Its reduced-borax formulation makes the coating less hygroscopic.
EZCoat™ PC35: a borax-free product formulated to provide a tenacious coating on ferrous rod with the moisture resistance required for wire processing in humid plant conditions. The coating will not gel in tanks when cooled, allowing the coating system to be completely powered down when not in use to save energy. PC35 can be used for both inline and batch coating.
EZCoat™ PC40: a superior borax, sulfate, and surfactants precoat that provides a firm coating on steel and stainless steel rod and wire. It features a very low hygroscopic crystal surface and very low sludging and can be used in both inline and batch coating systems.
EZCoat™ PC50: an enhanced borax, sulfate, and surfactants precoat with a higher borax concentration. It provides a hard, slick coating on steel and stainless steel rod and wire, with a very low hygroscopic crystal surface and reduced sludging. PC50 is suitable for both inline and batch coating systems.
EZCoat™ PC33P: a combination of borax and polymer additives, combining new and established coating technologies. The tackiness of the coating provides very good lubricant pick-up and a robust coating for hard draws. PC33P is formulated for use in inline coating units.
EZCoat™ 2000: a high-titer, rich, soluble soap with lubricity additives for use as a cold forming lubricant in special applications. It is easily soluble in hot water and can be used in inline or batch coating systems.
