Rigid cage stranders for power cables with Cu or Al wires screening

Stolberger manufactures and sells rigid cage stranders suitable for screening of power cables with Cu or Al wires.

Bobbin Size Range: 355 to 500 mm flange diameter.
Number of bobbins per cage: 40 – 48 – 56 – 64 – 72 – 80 – 88.

Cage construction
The rotor cage is fabricated of steel cast bobbin supports which are fixed on a central tube. Each cage has 8 rows of bobbins.

Cage drive
The cage is driven by an AC motor, flanged with a cage gearbox. As an option the strander can be connected to a line shaft to the capstan and additional taping equipment.

Bobbin support
Between pintles running in bearings, closed by compression cup springs and opened pneumatically.

Bobbin braking
By a pneumatic / electrically controlled brake system with brake sheave and rope. The wire tension is kept constant from full to empty bobbin.

Several options are available as per customer request.
