Welded stainless steel tubes for energy and power generation

Welded stainless steel tubes for energy and power generation

CSM TUBE is a strategic partner in the supply of stainless steel tubes for the energy and power generation sector. In an industry characterized by stringent regulatory requirements and demanding operating conditions, the company provides components engineered to maximize plant efficiency and ensure long-term operational reliability.

Technical specifications for the energy sector

  • Diameters: from 5.00 mm to 32.00 mm
  • Wall thicknesses: from 0.30 mm to 2.00 mm
  • Material verification: automated chemical analysis (PMI/XRF)
  • Mechanical strength: verified by burst testing up to 1000 bar

Applications and energy infrastructure

Thanks to versatile welding and heat treatment technologies, CSM TUBE products can be integrated into a wide range of energy systems and infrastructures including heat recovery from industrial processes, geothermal systems and biomass plants. For these applications, the company’s tubes are used in heat exchangers and modern industrial solar thermal installations.

Particular attention is given to emerging green energy sectors, such as biogas and biomethane plants, where potentially corrosive environments require the use of high-performance alloys to ensure long-term thermal stability and structural resistance.

Material integrity and extreme resistance

The energy sector requires materials capable of withstanding continuous mechanical stress. CSM TUBE meets these requirements through:

  • Alloy selection: use of stabilized austenitic and ferritic steels, as well as refractory nickel alloys, to prevent pitting, crevice, and intergranular corrosion.
  • Solution annealing heat treatments: to optimize the grain structure, improving the workability of the tubes.
  • Dimensional precision: wall thicknesses from 0.30 mm to 2.11 mm and diameters up to 32.00 mm, with tolerances compliant with relevant European and American standards such as EN 10217-7, ASTM A249, and ASME SA249.
  • Use in pressure equipment: the tubes are compliant with internationally recognized standards for pressure equipment applications, including PED (2014/68/EU), AD Merkblatt W2 and ASME.

Safety protocols and three-shift process monitoring

In order to meet the stringent requirements of energy applications, each batch is subject to rigorous testing and digitalized monitoring.

Automated chemical analysis (PMI/XRF) on 100% of incoming raw materials

To verify the chemical composition of raw materials and eliminate the risk of alloy mix-ups.

Internal pressure testing and burst tests

Pressure testing up to 100 bar and burst testing up to 1000 bar verify the integrity of the weld seam.

Tensile testing

Tensile tests ensure control of mechanical properties, ensuring suitable properties for downstream processing.

Full traceability

Each piece is marked and recorded in the company system, allowing access to inspection certificates at any time and ensuring complete batch traceability.

CSM TUBE’s technical department is available to support the definition of the technical parameters required for your energy applications.
