Drum twisters for sector-shaped conductors, telephone cables and power cables

Stolberger produces and markets drum twisters suitable for the laying-up of round or sector-shaped conductors, stranding telephone cables and for screening or armouring power cables.

Drum size range: 1250 to 3600 mm flange diameter.

Rotor construction
The rotor is a combined welded and bolted construction. Two fork type supporting arms connect the rotor brake disc and the yoke ring. The rotor is supported by two sets of Gesadur under-rollers on which the yoke ring runs and a spherical roller bearing at the opposite end.

Rotor drive
The rotor is driven by an AC motor, gearbox and timing belt.

Drum support
Between pintles running in bearings. The pintles are opened or closed by one each geared motor.

Drum drive
The drum is driven by a AC motor, gearbox and timing belt.
