ESTAD 2025 - European Steel Technology & Application Days in Italy

The European Steel Technology and Application Days (ESTAD) is a biennial conference that serves as a key forum for professionals in the steel industry to discuss technological advancements, supply chain transformations, and the evolving landscape of steel applications. The next edition (the 7th) is scheduled to take place from 6 to 9 October 2025 at the Palaexpo Veronafiere in Verona, Italy.

Ironmaking, steelmaking, and digitalization among the topics of ESTAD 2025

ESTAD 2025 will focus on several critical themes, including ironmaking, steelmaking, rolling processes, forging, additive manufacturing, surface technologies, hydrogen-based steelmaking, CO₂ mitigation, environmental and energy transformations, and digitalization. The conference aims to address the twin transitions—ecological and digital—that are reshaping the steel industry. The event will feature a comprehensive program of technical sessions, plenary lectures, and networking opportunities, bringing together technology providers, suppliers, producers, and customers. Attendees can expect to engage in fruitful discussions and establish new professional relationships that will drive innovation and progress in the field.

An exhibition to explore the future of steel applications

In addition to the conference sessions, ESTAD 2025 will host an exhibition where companies can showcase their latest innovations and technologies to a targeted audience. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to strengthen their presence within the scientific community and maximize visibility among industry leaders and decision-makers. ESTAD 2025 aims to build upon the success of its predecessors by continuing to serve as a premier platform for professionals in the steel industry to exchange knowledge, discuss technological advancements, and explore the future of steel applications.

About the previous edition of ESTAD

The previous edition, ESTAD 2023, was held from June 12 to 16 in Düsseldorf, Germany, in conjunction with the METEC trade fair. Organized by the Steel Institute VDEh, the event attracted over 1,300 participants from more than 40 countries. The conference featured over 500 presentations covering topics such as ironmaking, steelmaking, rolling, forging, hydrogen-based steel production, CO₂ mitigation, and Industry 4.0. Notable speakers included experts from leading companies and research institutions, such as thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG, Primetals Technologies, Tata Steel Europe, and RWTH Aachen University.
