3MZ Tensile is a medium-load tensile testing machine designed for versatility, precision, and compliance with the most stringent international standards. With a maximum capacity of 50 kN, it is ideal for mechanical tests on both metallic and non-metallic materials, thanks to a modular configuration with interchangeable load cells and accessories for multiple test types.

Structure and mechanics

The machine features a freestanding dual-column structure with ball screw drives ensuring high rigidity and precise movement. The servo-electric actuator operates with direct current and is equipped with an encoder or optical scale, ensuring accurate control of both position and applied force. It supports automatic, semi-automatic, or manual operation with an electronic handwheel providing 0.003 mm resolution for fine adjustments.

Control system and software

The EASYQS control system developed by Easydur—shared with the high and ultra-low load ranges (AURA and DYNO)—runs on Windows 10. Axis control and cell reading use a CAN-bus protocol with a 1000 Hz feedback rate, supporting high-resolution readings (up to 200,000 divisions). The machine features a user-friendly touchscreen interface and direct controls on the front panel.

Load cells (from 100 N to 50 kN), selectable via software and protected against overload even when inactive, can be freely combined. The system includes functions for automatic and relative reset, auto-compensation for cell deformation, ASCII format data archiving, and statistical parameter calculation (mean, sigma, CP, CPK).

Applications and interfaces

3MZ Tensile performs tensile-to-failure, compression, bending, peeling, shear, and custom tests in compliance with ASTM E4, ISO 7500-1, EN 10002-2, JIS B7721, GB/T 16825.1, DIN 51221, BS 1610, and equivalent standards. Common test subjects include sheet metal, pipes, metallic specimens, castings and forgings, welded metals, alloy specimens, and hot-rolled steels. It is also Industry 4.0 ready, with an integrated interface for management software and USB/network ports for data acquisition from external devices like calipers or indicators.

Test results and management

The machine delivers comprehensive results including unit load, deformation, modules, yield, and fracture. Test stop conditions can be configured based on maximum elongation, load drop, or peak force. Data export to Excel is supported for analysis and reporting.
