Phosphating and lubrication are critical steps in the preparation of cold heading wire, directly impacting die life, forming efficiency, and surface finish. The phosphating process begins with hydrochloric acid pickling, which removes surface oxides and impurities. This is followed by a zinc-phosphate coating stage, which creates a microcrystalline base layer that enhances lubricant adhesion and surface friction control. The wire is then treated with high-purity saponification agents, ensuring optimal lubrication for multi-stage cold heading.

German-imported chemical formulations and precise soak-time control via automated timers ensure uniform layer thickness, consistent coating quality, and minimized variability between coils. Polymer-based topcoats can also be applied upon request to further reduce friction and enhance temporary corrosion protection during handling and storage.
