Sodium drawing powders for carbon and stainless steel
Kodiak develops EZDraw™ sodium drawing powders for wire drawing applications ranging from coated and uncoated carbon steels to high carbon and stainless steel. Featuring sodium soap formulations with different fat contents and additive packages, the range is developed for different drawing conditions, from clean-finish and high-speed applications to severe drafting, galvanizing, and resistance welding requirements. Selected products combine lubricity and thermal stability additives to support drawing performance.
EZDraw™ sodium drawing powders range
EZDraw™ 595: a rich sodium high melting point soap powder recommended for severe drafting applications or where die and block cooling is less effective. Suitable for high-speed drawing of both high carbon and stainless steel, it can also be used with calcium-based ripper box lubricants.
EZDraw™ 216: a high fat content sodium soap containing very few additives to promote a clean finish. It is used for one- to three-hole draws where a very clean finish is required for plating.
EZDraw™ 540: a medium rich sodium soap suitable for a broad range of coated and uncoated carbon steels.
EZDraw™ 520: a medium rich sodium soap formulated to carry up to 14 holes at higher speeds across a broad range of coated and uncoated carbon steels.
EZDraw™ 340: a medium rich, borax-free sodium soap for a broad range of coated and uncoated carbon steels prior to galvanizing.
EZDraw™ 581: a rich mixed soluble soap containing nano lubricity and thermal stability additives. Designed for the most difficult draws of coated or uncoated carbon steels, it leaves a residual that enhances resistance welding on the wire.
EZDraw™ 547: a medium rich sodium soap with a special film thickener for added die life, suitable for a broad range of coated and uncoated carbon steels.
