Coil-fed laser cutting lines for continuous sheet metal processing

TTEngineering also designs coil-fed laser cutting lines, combining continuous coil processing with the precision of laser technology. These lines enable manufacturers to switch from conventional sheet-fed production to a more autonomous, space-efficient, and flexible workflow.
A key feature is the ability to handle up to six coils simultaneously (total capacity up to 12 tons), with automatic material selection in real time. This eliminates cycle interruptions and setup times, making the solution ideal for companies managing frequent material changes, small-batch series, or complex production schedules where efficiency and responsiveness are critical.
Unlike traditional blanking systems, the coil-fed laser approach removes mechanical shear constraints, providing greater design freedom and optimized nesting of parts. This results in higher material utilization, reduced scrap, and the capability to process variable geometries without additional tooling.
The decoiling modules handle coils up to 1,550 mm wide and weights of 5 or 12 tons (28.000lbs), ensuring long, continuous runs. Among the most recommended options is the coil loading system with a motorized trolley on floor rails, which minimizes manual intervention and ensures safe and efficient loading. Additional automation such as coil storage and handling systems can further boost productivity and operator safety.
Each line is fully customizable to align with the customer’s specific material mix, thickness range, and throughput requirements, delivering maximum flexibility and performance for modern sheet metal production.
