Dry wire drawing lines
CSM Metalurji's dry wire drawing machines with die box are designed to process wire rod with diameters of up to 16.00 mm, producing finished wire down to 0.30 mm and below. Depending on the application, the machines can reach drawing speeds of up to 40 m/s.
The equipment features a robust machine frame with a modular design that facilitates transportation and installation. Safety guards are integrated to support safe operation, while different block configurations can be selected according to production requirements. The first drawing blocks can be supplied as vertical accumulating OTO-type units, whereas the final block is available in vertical, inclined or stripper configurations.
The machines can be equipped with either conventional die systems or interchangeable micro-cassette technology for the production of low and high carbon steel wire. Die boxes are available with direct water cooling as well as fixed or rotating dies. For bright wire applications, the final soap box can be configured for liquid soap.
Drawing blocks are manufactured from 4140 cast steel and undergo induction hardening before receiving a tungsten carbide coating and polished finish. Depending on the machine configuration, cooling is provided through air-and-water or water-only systems, while corrosion-resistant materials are used in the water circuits. Additional features include pneumatic block braking systems, encoder-ready drive motors, reducers with internal or external oil pumps, chiller-ready water circulation systems, and automatic lubrication for micro-cassette operation.
Micro-cassette versions use tungsten carbide rollers and are designed for extended production runs, allowing continuous operation of up to 5,600 tonnes of 1.80 mm wire with a single micro-cassette set.
